Dom Bakalis

Dom has been with Ivanhoe Aqua Power since 1998, when a friend saw him swim at a school carnival and suggested he join the club. He swam at a state level in butterfly and backstroke, and was club captain from 2002-2004. Dom began his learn-to-swim training in 2004 and became a swim teacher in 2006. He attained his Swimming Australia Green Licence in 2007 and has been coaching at Ivanhoe Aqua Power since this time. In 2012 he attained his Swimming Australia Bronze coaching licence. Dom loves that being a coach at Aqua Power allows him to give back to the club, and to share in the excitement of performing well at competition, attaining personal bests and just enjoying the challenges and camaraderie of day-to-day training.

Dom is the lead coach for Target Squad, with oversight from Head Coach Yu Dong.

Tom Rayner
